A Faded Star was originally created for the director's grandmother, a former stage actress. When we decided we wanted to use her talents, we set about writing the perfect film for her. Unfortunately, the film was postponed when COVID hit in March of 2020, the same month we had planned to shoot. Sadly, during COVID, the director's grandmother passed away before we could come back to Savannah and make this production happen. This film has become one of my senior thesis films, and I am honored that I can tribute this film to someone so close to my friend.
Making this film, reality has been challenging, with a couple of road bumps on the way. Still, I am proud of everyone we have worked with and our accomplishments.

One of our biggest obstacles was finding a theater that would allow us to shoot. With a lot of research and hours of communication, I got the 100-year-old Lucas Theater in Savannah, GA. Fitting into the theater's schedule was extremely difficult. We were only allowed to shoot there for 9 hours on a Monday for 7 scenes, which is the majority of the film. With that in mind, we worked very tirelessly in planning the best way of saving time on set, especially with the help of our great Assistant Director, Jack McMillan. Overall, it was a great experience working with such a fantastic and professional student crew and an incredible cast.
